En la base del Pico Real del Turquino, Consejo Popular de Ocujal, se jugaron dos partidos de la serie provincial de béisbol de Santiago de Cuba una de las provincias de mayor tradición del deporte de las bolas y los strikes en Cuba, cuartel general de las Avispas Orientales.
La subserie, pactada a tres encuentros entre las novenas del municipio de Guamá y Segundo Frente, concluyó a favor del municipio de Guamá dos victorias por una, uno de los mejores resultados para Guamá en subseries particulares en el béibol provincial.
Los de Segundo Frente ganaron el primer partido en cerrada lucha que culminó seis carreras por cinco y los guamenses ganaron el segundo de la jornada con marcador de 3 carreras por una.
Al día siguiente, en el estadio Mártrires del Uvero, los guamenses inclinaron la valanza a su favor al desatar una fuerte ofensiva y llevarse la victoria seis carreras por tres luego de remontar una desventaja que a la altura de la sexta entrada era de tres carreras.
De esta forma Guamá continua en la porfía por acceder a la fase de los play of de la serie provincial de béisbol, en Santiago de Cuba, en lo que va constituyendo hasta este momento del campeonato, una de las mejores actuaciones de los peloteros guamenses.
